Basso Lario: Cernobbio – Moltrasio

RING: ROVENNA – SORT SENTEE – MOUNTAINS LENNO SCARONE

(km. 5.2 – estimated time 2:00 hours)

• maximum altitude LUGARNO (mt. 708) – minimum altitude CASARICO (mt. 380)
• Starting on foot from Rovenna (cemetery parking lot), walk along the “Sentee di Sort” to the hamlet of Casarico.
• to Casarico from the Cappelletta up a nice steep mule track to the huts in the Lenno Mountains.
• pass the huts on the left to reach the Bisbino carriage road and follow it uphill to the next hairpin bend (Località Lugarno) where there is a sign indicating Scarone.
• this connecting path is also marked by colored vignettes up to the junction with the mule track that downhill reaches first Scarone and then Rovenna.
• From the Lenno Mountains one can return to Rovenna by following the downhill carriage road.

RING: MOLTRASIO PIER – ROVENNA

(km 2.6 – estimated time 1:15 hours)

• maximum altitude SENTEE DI SORT (mt. 477) – minimum altitude MOLTRASIO PONTILE (mt. 207)
• starting on foot from Moltrasio’s pier, taking the church tower as a reference, climb into the village from one of the many pedestrian streets within the historic village.
• above the church square (Piazza Umberto I) you can take Via Al Noce to the hamlet of Casarico.
• The “Sentee di Sort” starts from the little chapel and ends in Rovenna.
• From Rovenna you can walk down to Cernobbio or take regular buses.

RING: TOSNACCO – MOUNTAINS OF LENNO – MOUNTAINS OF LISCIONE

(km. 6.0 – estimated time 2:30 hours)

• maximum altitude MONTI DI LISCIONE (mt. 718) – minimum altitude TOSNACCO (mt. 324)
• Starting on foot from Tosnacco (parking facilities available), walk along the paved road to the hamlet of Casarico.
• in Casarico from the Cappelletta, climb right on the mule track to the locality of Monti di Lenno.
• after the nucleus of houses on the right begins the path marked for Monti di Liscione, flat with little elevation gain that passes by the locality “Al Piano.”
• having reached the locality Monti di Liscione, at the first huts descend to the right on a steep but scenic mule track to Tosnacco.

it is also possible to walk the route in the opposite direction, of course, but it is more strenuous

RING: TOSNACCO – MOUNTAINS OF LENNO – BUGONE – MOUNTAINS OF LISCIONE

• maximum altitude BUGONE (mt. 1122) – minimum altitude TOSNACCO (mt. 324)
• Starting on foot from Tosnacco (parking facilities available), walk along the paved road to the hamlet of Casarico.
• in Casarico from the Cappelletta, climb right on the mule track to the locality of Monti di Lenno.
• From here proceed following the signs for Bugone.
• having reached Bugone, descend to the right on a steep mule track to the Urio Mountains and then to the Liscione Mountains.
• having reached the locality Monti di Liscione, at the first huts descend on a steep but scenic mule track to Tosnacco.

the hike is recommended for those who are somewhat trained as the climb from Tosnacco to Bugone is steady and quite challenging
